Me enamoré de Cartagena, Colombia! The beautiful fishing village on Colombia’s Caribbean coast made for the perfect Bachelorette destination this holiday weekend. Lined with colorful colonial buildings and cobblestone streets, from the culture to the people and of course the food – I fell in love with the magical city. So many of you have asked for a travel guide so here it is!Where to stay: We stayed at Casa Pombo, in a duplex apartment – the charming stone house was perfect for a group of girls! Next time I would most likely stay at the Mansión Tcherassi for a boutique hotel vibe. Definitely stay in the Old Town – we didn’t venture into the new city once.
Where to eat:
La Vitrola: amazing traditional upscale Colombian vibes
La Cevicheria: must-go-to for lunch!
Vera: upscale for lunch or dinner
Alma: romantic and late-night for dinner
Cuzco: great music / food for dinner
Don Juan: cool vibes for dinner
Juan Del Mar: pizza, amazing music, and the SUPER SEXY owner Juan.
Where to go out:
Alquímico: coolest 3-story bar EVER
Cafe Havana: for salsa dancing
La Movida: club for dancing *would only do this one night
La Jugada: club for dancing (less intense than La Movida)
100% suggest renting a boat for the day and exploring the Rosario Islands and Baru. Head to Blue Apple Beach Club for lunch and Cholon for a local pull-up with your boats party vibe.
We walked around the Old Town every day – there are AMAZING street vendors selling hand-made pieces and shops to walk into. Bargain everywhere you go and make sure you try the mango off the street!
Salsa Dancing class is a MUST!
Where to shop:
St. Dom – upscale amazing Colombian designers
Agua De Leon – also local designers / amazing accessories
Casa Chiqui – home decor and accessories
